We all have our personal pet peeves and things that bother us. What about when it comes to work? There are always circumstances or situations that trigger that ‘fingernails on a chalkboard‘ feeling, amiright? Well, we thought we’d share some of the situations that drives our professional carpet cleaner bonkers, so if you’re doing them, please stop — I’m kidding. No I’m not, seriously stop.
#6. When Customers Assume We Can Fix Ruined Carpets
We know, commercial janitorial companies and professional carpet cleaners are the wisest of masters, you’re welcome. However, there are times that we just can’t fix that cavernous hole in the $10K rug that your cat designed, we love you, but we can’t fix it. However, we do have some great associates that we can refer you to, so if that is something that you need taken care of, let us know.
#5. When Customers Don’t Vacuum Before Their Appointment
No doubt, our state of the art machines are ahhh – mazing, but we are on a tight schedule trying to take care of all of our wonderful customers. Assuming that we are just going to take care of the mashed up cookie left by dear little junior means that your appointment will take much more time than we anticipated and there is an additional charge for the extra service. So, just know that if vacuuming is something you want done, make sure you mention it when you book your appointment.
#4. Rental Carpet Machines
These are not great. And not just because they’re our competition, ahem…but mainly because they soak carpets causing them to get dirty faster. I know, hear me out. This is how it happens:
- Carpets are soaked
- People walk on said soaked carpets while they’re wet
- BOOM dirty carpets!
So all of the time and effort you spent “cleaning” your carpets – yeah, it’s futile. The best thing to do is call us, we use a secret technique so your carpets dry quickly. Shhhh, don’t tell anyone.
#3. When People Use Powder Products on Carpets
If this is you, stop what you’re doing right now and listen. These powders are like carpet dementors, they will bleach the fibers of your carpet. This means they are ruined (refer to list item #6), there are also other products and food items that can dye your carpet — again, refer to list item #6…there’s really nothing else to say about this. If you’re thinking of putting some random thing on your carpet, put it down, back up slowly, pick up your phone and call ProKleen.
#2. Know – It – All Customers
While we know you mean well, please don’t tell us how to clean your carpet, tile, upholstery etc. If we came in to your place of employment and tried to tell you how to do your job, you’d probably have a panic attack and then get fired. Even though we come to your home or office, the tasks we are performing are our expertise! Trust us, we know stuff.
#1. Customers Who Cancel Last Minute
Last but not least, customers who cancel without a 24 hour notice. It’s just courteous to let us know if you need to reschedule. We try our hardest to work you in when you schedule without much notice. So when you must cancel, unless it’s an emergency, of course, it would be fantastic if you’d just send us a quick text message the day before. Also, if for some reason we need to get in touch with you, it’s extremely irksome when you avoid our calls or messages. Just answer, we don’t bite!
All in all, we enjoy what we do and we are grateful for our loyal customers and clients. We thank you for your business and look forward to taking care of all of your carpet cleaning needs.
